Let me start off with confirming what you already suspect about this product. THIS IS A REPRODUCTION. If you are paying anything sub 3k you cannot expect the original game.
That said, the game board, the game cards and the individual plastic train carriages (you get plastic trains in the original as well) are of a very decent quality. I have played on the original board and believe me when I say that the quality of the aforementioned items are not too bad.
The minus points are for the shoddy cardboard box that the game comes in (the glue had already come off mine), the round points pieces/pawns made from cheap plastic and the even more shoddier molded plastic slots container, that you use to house the game components. This last one, I disposed of since it was already torn.
All considered, it’s still a good buy.

Overall great quality for the price.
There are a few things which could be improved, such as the color matching between a few of the cards (red, black) and the board color. The plastic tray that holds the pieces is also quite flimsy. However considering the steep discount from the original game’s price these are acceptable flaws. The cards and board are of good quality and should hold up to many rounds of fun gaming.
